Sculptra
Sculptra is an injectable facial filler capable of returning fullness to the face and reducing the appearance of wrinkles and folds. Currently, Sculptratm is FDA approved in the United States for people suffering from lipoatrophy and facial wasting due to HIV. Lipoatrophy is caused by antiretroviral medications taken by HIV sufferers to help combat the disease. Sculptra is the first injectable treatment to receive FDA approval for such treatment. Dr. Rosenberg injects Sculptratm below the skin surface in the area of fat loss. Sculptra does not correct the cause of lipoatrophy but rather increases skin thickness and renews the fullness of the face. Sculptratm gradually corrects skin depression; it will take a few days to more than a week before you notice results.
