Many women feel uncomfortable wearing halter tops or two piece swimsuits because their breasts do not fill out their clothes to the extent they would like. If you are one of the many patients who desires larger breasts, breast augmentation may be the solution for you. Breast augmentation can be performed using silicone or saline breast implants. The procedure can help any woman have larger, shapelier breasts and a more positive self-image. Breast augmentation can also help women who have one breast that is noticeably smaller than the other (breast asymmetry) or who have a moderate degree of breast sagging with smaller breasts. At Rosenberg Plastic Surgery, the breast implants procedure is customized to the specific goals of the individual to ensure natural-looking, attractive results. Back to top
Like everything on Earth, breasts respond to gravity. The breast descends with age, and there may also be loss of breast attractiveness following pregnancy or weight loss. Dr. David Rosenberg, has years of experience helping patients with aging breasts. We recommend this procedure when breast implants alone will not be enough to treat a patient’s aging breasts, or when the areola has become stretched and enlarged. A breast lift produces an elevated, youthful breast contour and a nicely sized and positioned nipple-areola complex. A breast lift can be combined with breast augmentation to provide fullness in addition to a more aesthetic breast position. Back to top
Large, heavy breasts can be the cause of breathing difficulties, neck and back pain, poor posture, and painful bra strap indentations. It can also cause irritation and chafing underneath the breasts. Large breasts can interfere with normal daily activities such as exercise and decrease a woman’s sense of attractiveness and self-confidence. Breast reduction surgery can give women with heavy breasts a sense of freedom in their bodies they may have never dreamed possible. By reducing breast size and producing a more attractive contour, breast reduction can eliminate health problems associated with excessively large breasts and improve a woman’s self-image.
In order to determine insurance coverage for breast reduction, the Schnur Sliding Scale is implemented. The Schnur Sliding Scale is a chart used in evaluating a patient’s medical requirements when considering breast reduction surgery. It compares the patient’s body surface area with the weight of breast tissue to be removed in surgery. If a patient’s body surface area and removed breast tissue weight are not within a particular percentile, surgery is considered to be a cosmetic procedure and is unlikely to be approved by a health insurance company.
Dr. Rosenberg is also an expert in fixing problems after previous breast surgery. This includes surgery to address hardening of the breasts after breast augmentation (known as capsular contracture), or even disabling pain after breast surgery. Sometimes, previous surgeries have left large scars which women would like improved. Back to top
